L'apparition
2014
A kaleidoscope of psychedelic colour radiates from this large-scale body of work, enveloping the viewer in a realm where technology, materiality, and abstraction collide. This series explores a dimensionally fluid visual context, emphasizing duality, liminality, and continuity. The reflective dichroic surface evokes stillness, while the underlying white linen topography perpetuates constant compositional mutation, with pulsations and undulations reminiscent of tonal vibrations or wind-swept dunes.
The reflection cast on the floor, a shadow of multicolored variances, extends the two-dimensional vertical plane, enhancing the work's dimensional potential and creating an immersive channel for the viewer. Techniques used are generic but practiced within specific delineations, allowing the artwork to resist strict definition and question context. Contrasting materials encourage the visual narrative to metamorphose, changing conditions and varied modalities.
The installations maintain an uninterrupted dialogue with their environment, drawing meaning from and altering their surroundings through their reflective nature. Each piece, with its distinct motifs, operates within a chromatic framework, bearing the imprint of a multitude of variances stimulated by new empirical interactions.
